Fred Small

The Rev. Fred Small is minister of First Church Unitarian, in Littleton, Massachusetts, and co-chair of Religious Witness for the Earth, a national interfaith network dedicated to public witness on environmental issues, especially global climate change.

After graduating from Yale with a degree in American studies and the University of Michigan with degrees in law and natural resources, Small worked as a staff attorney for the Conservation Law Foundation. He left CLF to tour internationally as a folksinger and songwriter, releasing seven albums over two decades. He earned an M.Div. from Harvard in 1999.

In March 2007, Small was one of the lead organizers of the Interfaith Walk for Climate Rescue from Northampton to Boston, Massachusetts. In July 2007, Grist magazine named him one of fifteen Green Religious Leaders worldwide.
