The Rev. James Ishmael Ford is senior minister of the First Unitarian Church in Providence, Rhode Island. The first Unitarian Universalist to receive Dharma transmission, or formal sanction as a Zen teacher, he is the author of several books on Buddhism, including Zen Master Who?.
