Angélica Canlas Castro was born in the Philippine Islands and migrated to San Francisco, California, with her family when she was 8 years old. She lives in Amherst, Massachusetts, and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater and Community Health and a Graduate Certificate in Social Justice Education: Teaching for Diversity from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, as well as a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from Mt. Holyoke College, where she serves as Associate Director of Community Engagement and Advisor for C.A.U.S.E.: Creating Awareness and Unity for Social Equity. She co-founded and is Chief Transformation Officer of Castro Collaborative, where she leads a team of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Specialists to help local organizations and institutions co-create a safe, supportive, and inclusive work climate to ensure growth, innovation, and success. She is a certified executive life and leadership coach, a community mediator, and a yoga and mindfulness practitioner. Most importantly, Angelica has four beautiful and courageous children, Tyrell, Ang, Isa, and Sammy, who inspire her to shine and are her greatest teachers.
