As an abstract painter, William B. Reed constantly reinvents himself as an artist but is always true to his fascination with line and color. Reed uses multiple layers of acrylic paint on canvas to capture flowing images between semi-linear boundaries. “My thought process as I paint is a non-linear flow of consciousness,” says Reed. “It’s as though I’m not there during their creation, but the paintings clearly result from my emotional state as I approach the blank canvas.” His work is often spiritual, sometimes political, and always heartfelt. Reed is a member of First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake City, Utah. artatthemain.com/artists/reed/
