The Unitarian Universalist Association Board of Trustees is seeking nominations for an acting moderator of the UUA. The moderator of the UUA is its chief governance officer and chairs the board of trustees. (Former UUA Moderator Jim Key resigned May 13 due to health reasons and died on June 2.)

The acting moderator will be appointed through General Assembly 2018, in Kansas City, Kansas, where there will be an election to serve out the remainder of Key’s term, which was to end at the conclusion of GA 2019. The board hopes to appoint someone who will also agree to run for election to the one-year term at GA 2018, thereby serving a term of just under two years as acting moderator.

The deadline for nominations is June 30.

Nominations for acting moderator will be considered by the Acting Moderator Search Team of the UUA Board (Tim Atkins, Gregory Boyd, and Sarah Dan Jones), who will present a recommendation to the full UUA board.

The Board's announcement includes search criteria and a nomination form. (Note that this is not an application form—it is a nomination form.)
