The Unitarian Universalist Association and other UU groups signed a January 3 interfaith statement condemning the assassination of Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani of Iran by a U.S. drone strike in Iraq. “We renounce the escalation of violence,” said the statement, which was signed by the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Mennonite Church USA, Church of the Brethren, and peace and advocacy groups from many other traditions.
